Hint: read the correct documentation - ie the ones in the actual downloads. Read the documentation and it works straight out of the box.

Note - The admin interface for OpenEffect uses javascript and according to the documentation only works in IE 5.0 or greater. It failed to work at all in galeon and mozilla and some of the admin tools appeared to work in Konqueror 3.0.
