APC Action Apps

This is a CMS developed by the Association for Progressive Communication as a CMS for NGOs. It appears to be mature and quite powerful with multiple templates and various levels of user permissions. Has the ability to expire and publish articles by date and to allow publishing with editor approval. It has one feature that other CMS don't have and that is the ability to pool content with other sites running on Action Apps. There is an interesting comparitve review of APC-AA with other leading CMSs here.
The search function works quite well and so does the editing the article online. Doesn't have an online wysiwyg editor but it is pretty easy to copy an item straight in and add it to the site. Will have to double check what the options are as far as wysiwyg editors.
There are options to develop templates, slices and modules so the next step is to get an understanding of this process and what the differences are between them. Have to try and relate them to categories, sub-categories and so forth as it is important that the CMS we use be able to do this.
