Compiling a Kernel for the Fujitsu LifeBook P2120

I decided to try configuring the new kernel using KCMlinuz the KDE frontend for Linux kernel configuration. (which runs from within KControl3)
I then downloaded the latest (debian packaged) stable kernel source: 2.6.8
