To switch tabs in galeon you can use Alt + (0-9) where 1 is tab 1 and 0 is tab 10. This is more effective that Shift + left arrow/right arrow followed by Return which only works when you have clicked in the address bar.
I can't figure out how to shift the keyboard from the browser page display to the browser tool bars and vice versa without using the mouse.
